Practice Focus
Julie represents commercial, non-profit, and public clients in a variety of transactional matters, with a concentration in real estate.
Julie’s experience includes advising clients in financing, acquisition, disposition, zoning, permitting, and leasing of real property, with an emphasis on affordable housing transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers in all stages of project development. She has also worked with clients on compliance with environmental laws and regulations, and risk management. She has counseled clients regarding a wide array of non-profit and charter school corporate governance issues, including mergers and reorganizations. Frequently working as general counsel to clients, she has significant experience advising them on a variety of general business and contracting issues.
Background
Ms. Peabody earned her bachelor’s degree from Amherst College, where she graduated magna cum laude, and her juris doctor from Boston College Law School, where she graduated cum laude.
Ms. Peabody cofounded KJP Partners LLP with Kurt James in 2016. Previously, she practiced as Counsel at Krokidas & Bluestein, LLP and as an associate at Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels in Boston.
Board and Community Service Activities
Julie is a member of the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association, the Massachusetts Women’s Bar Association and CREW Boston, and serves as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Real Estate Finance Committee. She has also served on the board of the Kalevaiset Finnish Civic Association of Maynard.
Julie is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. She currently resides in Groton.
